Moving Out.

We officially are moving on the 10th and have been working on getting Erin’s apartment ready to move and combining stuff. Too much to do and too little time …

The Count Down.

The count down begins, two weeks until the wedding and two and a half weeks until Erin and I get in a car and drive 2200 miles to Seattle. We found an apartment this week and are jumping through the application hoops, so no mom we won’t be living on the streets. I also had a good week of looking for jobs, talked to a number of recruiters in Seattle and things seem positive. Next week is another busy week, getting ready to box things up for the move and putting the final touches on our wedding preparations.

More Updates.

We have been getting a few things done and it looks like we are close on our caterer and florist. Those are basically the two last big things on the list. There is plenty of other stuff going on right now though, Erin accepted her position in Seattle, my lease is up so I will be moving in with John (my brother) next weekend and I have begun the job search in Seattle. In addition, we have been traveling most weekends to hang out with family, last weekend we were in Columbus and had a nice lunch with Erin’s grandparents. Needless to say with as much going on we are happy to have this weekend at home. I’m even taking Erin on a date tonight. :)

Coming Along.

Things are coming along, Erin’s dress should be in soon, my suit arrived last week, the bridesmaid dresses are ordered, we decided on a bakery and we met with the florist this weekend. Basically we just need to nail down a caterer and we should have all the big things taken care of.

Invitations are out and we have even received some responses back already. Glad to know some folks are going to show up to this thing. ;)

Updates.

Erin and I have been busy getting things going for the wedding. Erin’s mom Lynn came into town and helped Erin find a dress and gave us plenty of ideas for the reception, flowers and etc. Over the weekend we finished designing our invitations and will be getting them printed up and sent out in the next few days. We also did our first marriage prep class on Saturday morning. Saturday evening we drove to Murphysboro and had a lovely dinner with my parents. We also got our bid for the cake (actually cupcakes) for the reception. So things are moving right along.

Busy Times.

Erin and I both have been busy getting ready for the big day. She and I went looking for suits for myself Tuesday night. Last night we both went to Belleville, IL to visit with my brother and his wife. Erin and Marie were tasked with looking for bridal gowns while John and I worked on getting the invitations mocked up. We also have marraige prep classes coming up and much more planning to do. We have however pinned down the church and are penciled in for our reception place. So progress is certainly being made. Stay tuned for more as things develop in the coming months.

cupcake tasting

dessert is important! joe & i decided that we are anti big stuffy wedding cakes. much more our speed is a variety of cute single-serving sized cakes which you are obliged to eat with your fingers. so wednesday we ventured to the cupcakery here in stl with bridesmaid extrodinare miss maggie snow for a sampling of their finest. sugar was exactly what i needed!! seven cupcakes later, we were more than sated and maybe slightly nauteous from all that buttercream covered goodness? but we had a winner. red velvet. yum!!
