Just got married now on to Seattle!

rolled into seattle tue afternoon & picked up the keys to our cozy new apartment in ballard. glad to be done driving. the cats too. now they are making themselves at home. motorboat sleeps in the empty kitchen cabinets. we’re not really sure when any of our stuff will show up since the streets are iced over. right now we’re camping at home- sleeping on a leaky air mattress & eating with plastic spoons. we’ve been exploring our neighborhood, which has a bunch of coffee shops & restaurants. and also orienting ourselves to seattle & working on new projects.

Woke up this am to 6″ of snow & forbidding forecasts along our route from Salt Lake City to Boise, so we decided to extend our stop over at Hotel Monaco & check out the town. We hoofed it all around & had a little difficulty finding things open to the public on Sunday, but successfully stopped by the Mormon Temple, Beehive Tea Room, & the SLC library. Nifty was to spend a bright, snowy day!

you ain’t joking! getting to the end of the isle was a bit more of an ordeal than i anticipated due to an early am car crash, missing makeup, & a forgotten veil. lori & maggie & mom, i couldn’t have done it without you. but it all turned out really great in the end, even the rastafar-i alleluia! joe loved his lemon cupcakes & vegetarian buffet. plus all arms of my family were there & they spoke! and friends i haven’t seen in forever came. then we stayed in the spookiest little farm house till our midnight flight to carbondale. it wasn’t my idea to put a headless mannequin wearing a wedding dress on the upstairs landing looking at itself in a mirror! the next am, it wasn’t so scary- just too darn quiet. but now the rented ties and cupcake stand have been returned, and the mover is coming tomorrow at 8am. hope we’re ready for everything that’s next! cross your fingers.

Thanks go out to everyone that was at, helped out with and wish they were at the wedding. Although there were a couple mishaps things went off as well as anyone could have hoped. From what I could tell everyone enjoyed the ceremony and reception. Thanks again for spending your day with us! Erin and I really enjoyed seeing all of you.

We officially are moving on the 10th and have been working on getting Erin’s apartment ready to move and combining stuff. Too much to do and too little time …

The count down begins, two weeks until the wedding and two and a half weeks until Erin and I get in a car and drive 2200 miles to Seattle. We found an apartment this week and are jumping through the application hoops, so no mom we won’t be living on the streets. I also had a good week of looking for jobs, talked to a number of recruiters in Seattle and things seem positive. Next week is another busy week, getting ready to box things up for the move and putting the final touches on our wedding preparations.

We have been getting a few things done and it looks like we are close on our caterer and florist. Those are basically the two last big things on the list. There is plenty of other stuff going on right now though, Erin accepted her position in Seattle, my lease is up so I will be moving in with John (my brother) next weekend and I have begun the job search in Seattle. In addition, we have been traveling most weekends to hang out with family, last weekend we were in Columbus and had a nice lunch with Erin’s grandparents. Needless to say with as much going on we are happy to have this weekend at home. I’m even taking Erin on a date tonight.

Things are coming along, Erin’s dress should be in soon, my suit arrived last week, the bridesmaid dresses are ordered, we decided on a bakery and we met with the florist this weekend. Basically we just need to nail down a caterer and we should have all the big things taken care of.

Invitations are out and we have even received some responses back already. Glad to know some folks are going to show up to this thing.
